Victory Motorcycles: A History
Polaris, the parent company of Victory motorcycles, got its start in 1954, making snowmobiles. In 1985, they expanded to include all terrain vehicles. In 1992, they added watercraft to their line of recreational vehicles. In 1997, the Ranger was added. That was the first off road utility vehicle made by Polaris. Finally in 1998, Polaris introduced its first motorcycle. Victory motorcycles was born. It was the first American made motorcycle to come along in about 60 years.
This year celebrates 10 years in the motorcycle business for Victory motorcycles. The new Victory Vision is just one of the lines available through Victory motorcycles for 2008. This all new line from Victory motorcycles is devoted to touring motorcycles and all the comfort that that entails.
The Victory Vision has five different models of Victory motorcycles and all of them are built for comfort. The first one is the Victory Vision Tour. It features a six speed overdrive transmission, a four speaker sound system, and cruise control. It’s storage space has a total of 29.2 gallon capacity or 6,750 cubic inches of storage space.
The next in Victory motorcycles is the Victory Vision Tour Comfort. In addition to the features in the Tour, Victory motorcycles, also includes heated seats and hand grips and a power windshield. Like the Tour, the Tour Comfort has large storage space. These Victory motorcycles are large enough to store two full face helmets. In this model, Victory motorcycles has allowed the driver to adjust the height of the windshield to block more wind when necessary.
Victory motorcycles third in the line of Vision motorcycles is the Victory Vision Tour Premium. The Tour Premium has all the features of the Tour Comfort, but with high intensity lights and a chrome upgrade. This is the top of the line of the Vision Victory motorcycles.
Victory motorcycles also offers a street model. The Vision Street also has a six speed transmission, but has a smaller storage capacity and a two speaker sound system. It does offer cruise control for a more comfortable ride. Victory motorcycles shows that it is all about comfort.
The Street Premium Victory motorcycles include the features of the Street and add a power windshield, a heated seat and hand grips, high intensity lights and a chrome upgrade. This one appears to be a combination of the touring and the street.
All the Victory motorcycles in the Vision line have some things in common. For instance, all the engines are 1731 cc and they all have a closed loop fuel injection. All Victory motorcycles have a 6 gallon fuel capacity. They come in three colors; black, super steel gray, and midnight cherry. Victory motorcycles offer different colors for different lines.
Victory motorcycles also offer other lines of motorcycles. The Victory Vegas models, the Hammer line, the Kingpin, and then there are two in the Ness signature series. The Ness signature series is a unique line because it is completely custom built, including a numbered badge with Arlen Ness’s signature or Cory Ness’s signature depending on which model is chosen. Victory motorcycles also offers custom builds straight from the factory. Whether you want top of the line, straight standard, or a decked out custom built, Victory motorcycles offers it all.
